The in-display fingerprint reader is a biometric authentication system integrated into the screen surface of an electronic device, such as a smartphone or tablet. Unlike traditional physical sensors located on the back or home button, this technology allows users to unlock the device by touching the screen directly.
Working principles
These sensors operate using optical or ultrasonic technologies. In the case of optical sensors, infrared light illuminates the fingerprint through the screen, and a camera captures the image for analysis. Ultrasonic sensors, on the other hand, emit high-frequency sound waves that bounce off the ridges and valleys of the fingerprint, creating a three-dimensional map of it. Both technologies allow the screen to maintain its transparency and touch functionality in the sensor area.

Limitations
